They say : Mitico, situated on the trendy Kloof Street in the quaint suburb of Gardens, offers a little taste of Southern Italy on your doorstep. At Mitico they love cooking - and it shows - from the wood burning oven inside the restaurant where they bake and roast a variety of dishes, to the open display kitchen where you can see the cheerful bustle of some of the city's best chefs at work. On a warm night or during a sunny lunchtime the outdoor seating area is gorgeous. Gianni and David Vigliotti (uncle and nephew) are ever-present, and make sure that everyone is happy and taken care of. The restaurant has only recently received its liquor licence, so the wine list is still being finalised, but there’s no shortage of options. 

It’s a lovely no-fuss Italian place; you could easily go once a week.
