Kuzuko Lodge rests on a hill overlooking the Kaboega plains and Winterberg Mountains. The twenty-four chalets offer guests awe-inspiring views of a big five reserve, a watering hole and the plains of the African Klein Karoo. The vision for Kuzuko Lodge was to create a safari game park which combines conservation, job creation and social transformation in a malaria-free area in South Africa.
With the release of a captive born female cheetah into Kuzuko in September 2018, the Ashia’s Wilding and Release Project, financed and managed by Ashia Cheetah Conservation NPC, went into operation.

A variety of outdoor activities are available, including fly fishing, cave exploring, bird watching and nature walks. Game drives take place as the sun rises, during the afternoon and as the sun sets. Experienced guides track and point out the diverse wildlife that roams the Kuzuko reserve. With our nocturnal animals out and about, sunrise and sunset drives offer a very different view of the wild.
At night “Sky Rangers” offer cosmic safaris from the deck through an eight inch telescope.
Working with the local community, Kuzuko has carefully crafted a balance between nature and tourism: a new form of conservation tourism that ensures true sustainability while allowing visitors to experience Africa in its full glory.
