The Southern Suburbs are often passed by on the way to the Cape Peninsula with most people only ‘starting’ their tour of the Cape when they hit Muizenberg. However, there are some truly amazing places on the way down (and back) which make for a superb day out, without a whole heap of driving and navigation.

Here are the highlights of the Southern Suburbs (according to us) …
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens ... arguably one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world.
Constantia Wine Route - specifically Groot Constantia, Buitenverwachting and Steenberg
Ou Kaapse Weg is the original route for getting from Cape Town to the west coast of the Peninsula before Chapman’s Peak was built.
Imhoff’s Farm, with its great food and general bare-foot atmosphere, will be sure to delight you.
Noordhoek Farm Village - a small development of shops, restaurants and cafes in the coastal village of Noordhoek.
Chapman’s Peak Drive is probably one of the nicest drives home you’ll ever get ... try to catch sunset at the Sentinel.
