Cape Town Guesthouse Choices

Cape Town has any number of attractions and reasons that make it one of the world's leading tourist destinations and holiday accommodation to match. Whether you want to stay on the world class beaches in a luxury bed and breakfast or in a guesthouse in the bustling CBD, or even on the luscious south western slopes of Table Mountain within the beautiful indigenous vegetation looking out over False Bay you will find something that suits your taste and budget.

There are several important factors to consider when you go about choosing a guesthouse for your holiday in Cape Town. Much like in real estate the important thing to remember is "location, location, location." You need to take into account the activities you want to engage in and the site that you want to see. Luckily though Cape Town is a relatively small place compared to many other major tourist destinations, therefore you can benefit greatly from choosing a Cape Town guesthouse in a central location.

The CBD is small but busy there are however several beautiful quiet and leafy suburbs on the edges of the city, that offer the benefits of being close to the vibrant Mother City centre without the noise and traffic. These historic suburbs offer beautiful old converted colonial houses that have been turned into luxury Cape Town guesthouse accommodation.

The benefit of choosing Cape Town accommodation in the suburbs on the slopes of Lion's Head and the western slopes of Table Mountain is that you are close to the popular Camp's Bay and Clifton beaches. At the base of the CBD sits one of the city's most popular tourist attractions the V&A Waterfront. A mecca for shopping and world class restaurants it is a short taxi ride from any of the city bowl suburbs.

The Southern Suburbs which are situated on the south side of Table Mountain is a beautiful location and are becoming popular for Cape Town guesthouses and holiday accommodation. However it does not provide the convenience that staying in Cape Town holiday accommodation close to the city centre does. As with all major cities across the world the best restaurants and most exciting entertainment can be found in the CBD or close to it.

Camp's Bay and Clifton are two of the most well-known beaches in Southern Africa and Camp's Bay has been awarded Blue Flag Status. Both are found on the trendy Atlantic seaboard home to some of the of the most expensive real estate in the country, as such the guesthouses and other holiday accommodation can be prohibitively expensive. However it is a beautiful area to explore and has always been home to the young and trendy, it attracts some great entertainment. Staying in the suburbs at the top of the city bowl gives one access to these stunning views while at the same time giving one city centre convenience.
